HMO (Home of Multiple Occupants) fire sprinkler contract awarded to UltrasafeHouse split into separate bedsits
The term HMO or Home of Multiple Occupants can be;
- a shared house or shared flat, where people have separate renting agreements
- a hostel
- a bed-and-breakfast hotel that is not just for holidays
- shared accommodation for students – although many halls of residence and other types of student accommodation owned by educational establishments are not classed as HMOs.
Landlords must meet certain standards and obligations, some HMO’s must be licensed and The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) decide whether your building needs this. These include making sure that the communal areas are in a good state of repair and that proper fire safety measures are in place.
Ultrasafe Fire Suppression are pleased to be working with the local housing Authorities in Essex to protect this HMO property and the residents from fire, the Landlords have recognised a need to provide their tenants with a higher level of fire safety and we are delighted to have been selected to work with them.
The residents also welcome the extra protection offered in this home of multiple occupants and are keen to get the system installed as soon as possible. Work will be continuous on site until the contract is completed. In eight days time we aim to have this 24 room property going “live” giving the Landlords and stakeholders investment protection combined with life safety!
We would like to thank Southend on Sea Borough Council for your support, you can contact them at: www.southend.gov.uk/info/200268/private_housing.
