Cellar and Basement Fire Sprinkler Systems

Increasingly in areas of London in particular, people are being forced to extend their properties below ground. Converting cellars or basements into valuable additional living space is often the only feasible option but it does present challenges and in almost every case fire suppression is deemed mandatory. Building into hillsides and graduated levels is becoming the busiest market in London for local construction companies.

Home owners and property developers, also require fire sprinkler protection in change of use buildings, for mezzanine floors and converted churches.

We are usually asked by an Architect or property owner to work alongside a builder or contractor, who will not have the specialist knowledge and experience required in such a critical area of essential fire protection.

Sprinkler System specification requirements are different in ‘finished’ basements where there is a false ceiling and in industrial style ‘unfinished’ basements, where the original ceiling is exposed and all pipework may be seen. We can advise you on the correct system for your property and very importantly, ensure you meet the requirements of Building Control in your area.
